Motherboard question

    I'm currently building a new pc for video editing. but....i dont have the cash to get all the goods that i want. so im going to have to settle for less right now. but i want to do it it smart, i want to geta good mobo, but i was wondering if a DDR2 memory will work on a ddr3 memory motherboard?? anyone know. i know...maybe a dumb question but ive been out of the game for a while.

    NO, DDR3 memory will not work with a DDR2 board or vice-versa.

    Indeed, you can't put DDR2 in a DDR3 board unless it also has DDR2 slots. I'm not really sure what the problem is here though, DDR3 is cheaper than DDR2 now in many cases.

    It sounds like he may already have a stash of DDR2 sticks. :)
