new pc hdd swap

    im going to build a new pc and want to use my old hdd in the new build (i have 2 hdd one sata and one ide) how do i clone the ide to the sata so i can use the ide in a diff pc and format it? the sata drive is 2.5 hdd i heard the sata cables will work just fine from my 3.5 sata

    I'd recommend Acronis for the backup.
    As far as I'm aware 2.5" SATA mechanical drives take the same connectors as 3.5" drives. SSDs certainly do.

    yep this is correct the 2.5" sata drives will plug directly into the same cables you use for sata 3.5" drives.

    i also recomend using Acronis to backup your data on the drive beffore you put it in the new computer.
