no audio devices xp help please

    hi for the past 5 months i have been getting no audio through my pc i have tried speakers, headphones and even a plasma tv still nothing.
    i tried installing all different drivers but no joy. so today i restarted my whole pc with a clean install of xp sp2 home edition but still no sound i bought driverupdater pro and that cannot see any problems with my audio drivers same with driver genius and driver detective. i was told to download everest to check my system i got it and i have nothing under multimedia therefore meaning something was missing. to be honest i dont know what drivers im supposed to get and i cannot solve this problem my pc is packard bell istart 1360 please help me solve this problem thanks if any more information is needed just ask thanks

    hi thanks for your reply i have installled this driver and success i now have my audio back ish i have the volume control and mixer etc but still no sound all drivers are good i scanned with driver genius, syncrar driver updater and driver detective but still no problems with the drivers installed i have checked bios sound is enabled volume is right up not muted speakers are good
    do you any idea of the problem please thanks

    what does it show under sound video & game controllers in device manager?

    hi i fixed the problem i found out tat sound doesnt travel through the vga cable therefore i needed a audio jack sound is now back thanks for your help
