Are Nvidia notebook gpu really garbage and don't last long?

Is ATI the best company now?

When did this happen? I thought Nvidia where the pioneers in gpu's.

Yes, their laptop chips are junk. Given the fact that there is no other competition, that leaves ATI in the lead.

As for pioneering GPUs, that was long before nVidia's time. If you want a little history lesson, google 3DFX.

That logic is flawed in so many ways. Ford pioneered the automobile, does that make them the best well oiled vehicle on the road? And on 5 hours of sleep I will leave it at that.

nVidia never pioneered anything, they are a relatively new company that spawned around 10 years ago. ATI have been around twice that long, if not longer. nVidia simply produce low quality products that have a short lifespan. In terms of performance they do OK, but even in that sense, their laptop products are poor. It's not a crazy decision to buy a geforce for a desktop, but it is definitely a bad idea to buy a laptop with a mobile geforce processor, especially since laptops are difficult to repair.
