    This is what I have:
    AMD Athlon II X2 240 2.8GHz AM3 Processor
    Gigabyte GA-MA785GM-US2H 785G mATX Motherboard
    450W PSU

I double/triple/quadruple check all connections and everything is plugged in correctly.

When I press power, fan's spin, case LED lights up, PSU fan's spin... But I am not getting any video display which means no BIOS. The mobo does not make any beeps either which I find odd/scary.

I tried bare-bones start up (PSU powering mobo out of case & heat sink fan, w/ VGA plugged into integrated card and 1 stick of RAM)

    I'm running out of ideas

It sounds like it could be a bad monitor. Can you swap it out or try it on a different system? Has this system ever worked or are you building it for the first time?
