So I have this laptop: http://www.toshiba.ca/web/product.grp?lg=en&section=1&group=1&product=9252&category=

It has 2GB of RAM and it's running Vista 32 bit. My question is should I get more RAM for it or will I have to run a 64 bit operating system to benefit from it?

Also, if I get more RAM, say 4GB then downgrade to XP or upgrade to Windows 7 will that speed up the laptop? What is the most beneficial combination of RAM/operating system.

    Thanks.

You would still benefit on a 32 bit os, but more so from a 64 bit os over a 32 bit os.

As for XP,Vista and 7 go, I would say 32 bit XP or 64 bit Win 7.
