I just built a new computer but my video card is shutting off after about 5 minutes. I'm thinking it is getting too hot because when I took it off the motherboard, it burned my hand. Shouldn't the built-in fan keep that from happening?

The video card requires a cable from the power supply to power on so I'm guessing it needs a lot of juice. The card is an nVidia GeForce 9600GSO by ASUS.

Is there some cooling solution that I never knew about?

Well, does the fan work? Can you see it spinning round?
You're sure it's a problem with the video card?

What of case do you have or is it an off-the shelf PC (Dell, Compaq, etc.)?
