Whatsup guys? I am new to all of this, but I think I am on the right track. I have a 3g Iphone. It had the 3.1 firmware. Downgraded to 3.0, jailbroke, installed cydia, and ultrawn0w. Installed Fuzzyband in an attempt to downgrade the bootloader. My bootloader is 06.04. Am I right in assuming that I can't downgrade yet? Also, I was told that I could install another sim card on top of my tmobile card. WIll this work and if so, would you recomend a site to purchase from? Thanks!

    Hi there
You are not the only one with this problem
I have one with 5.9 but I may have stumbled on something relateing to what you have already done.
If you install the 3g fuzzyband it does not show your baseband but instead asks you to downgrade to 2.2,which maybe it can be done if you can downgrade to 2.2 or lower

So, by downgrading my firmware to 2.2 I will also be downgrading my baseband?

See if you use the other fuzzyband it comes up with the baseband where as the 3g does not,now maybe if you could downgrade your firmware back to 2.2.1 or lower which is what 3g fuzzyband is asking for you could do it through quickpwn or ziphone

So, I tried to downgrade to 2.2.1 to no avail. Apparently that firmware is not compatible with my phone. I'm guessing it's because it's a 3g.

god... this is the blind leading the blind, well, I'l be the one eyed man.

Unfortunately you cannot downgrade your baseband. If you upgraded, but need the unlock, you are unfortunately screwed right now.

How exactly? What guesswho said is spot-on. If your iphone has bootloader 05.08 it can be downgraded using Fuzzyband 3G to an unlockable version. If you've a later bootloader version your phone cannot be unlocked at present. Btw only a tiny % of iphones were shipped with the 05.08 so it'd be very unlikely yours is. Keep an eye on the Dev Team blog: http://blog.iphone-dev.org/

Does anyone think that maybe swapping files from a working iphone with a lower bootloader than 5.9 could be copied onto another iphone with 5.9 using toggle ssh and win scp?
