Hi there I'm pretty desperate now and really need the help of the brilliant community.
i successfully jailbroke/unlocked my iphone 3g on 3.1.2 firmware by downgrading the baseband etc. because i am going to sell it to a shop which wants it unlocked only (not jailbroken) So decided to remove the jailbreak features by uninstalling some of the cydia things in management sources, and thats when the problem stated. Cydia crashed and when i came back onto the shuffleboard (app screen whatever) my apps had no picture! i powered off and now it gets stuck at the bootup logo.
as you can see I'm in pieces over this and ergent help his needed/ appreciated

Yes I did try dfu mode, and I couldn't get it to work in the traditional way (hold it in let go of one button etc.). However if I held in the home and lock button for about 20 seconds I got an image of a USB cable and iTunes, then restored it, yes thanks for the help anyway!
