I undated my Ipod touch to 3.1.3 and now blackrain and cydia are gone I downloaded itunes 8 because I updated that to. So can i downgrade my ipod from 3.1.3 to anything that will run the jailbrake. Or is there anyway to jailbrake my ipod? I got it at Christmas so its not that old. Any help would be appreciated thanks
Install the older iTunes. - Download the older 3.1.2 .ipsw (link). - Put your iPod into DFU mode. - Click your iPod in iTunes, then hold the shift button on your keyboard and click "Restore". - Locate the firmware you just downloaded. Wait for restore to finish. EDIT: to put your iPod into DFU mode; Switch it on. Press and hold Power + Home buttons for 10 seconds. Release power but keep holding Home for 30 seconds. Screen should come on, but should NOT boot anything at all.
Ok so I downloaded the link and when I did hit Shift+restore "This Ipod could not be restored because the firmwire file is not compatible?
Faced the same problem!! got the dialog box "This Ipod could not be restored because the firmwire file is not compatible" is there any way out? for the itunes, would you suggest any specific version?
I no there is a way to jailbrake the older 2g's or first gens but mine is fairly new. Anyone know how to jailbrake or downgrade???
