iphone help pls

hi when i tried to update the version 3.1.2 it said ?The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be a supported?..? and when i tried without a sim it said ?NO SIM CARD INSTALLED insert a unlocked and valid sim to activate iphone?..please help asap !

 

you either need to install a pre-activated firmware (look at guesswhos post) or find an apple authorized sim card (i.e. at&t in the states)

 

can you tell me how to install that i dont had activation card iam in india right now i bought my i phone form used store from chicago iam confused man pls if you can pls guide me step by step thank you.

 

First go Here
Guess Who's Iphone Firmware
Download the appropriate firmware for your phone type (3g, 3gs, ect)
Open itunes
with your phone plugged it click on it from the right of the screen
hold down the shift button and click restore
when the file box opens show it to your downloaded firmware
then click on and restore your phone
now your going to have to check your modem firmware by going into settings general about and look at modem firmware if it says 04.26.08 then do this to install ultrasnow from cydia
to do that go into cydia select manage tab then sources and find where it says repo666.ultrasn0w.com and select it and run ultrasnow
the phone will restart and your done
if it says 05.11.07 then your going to have to run a program called blacksn0w to do this go into cydia click manage sources then select edit from the top right then click add from the top left and type this into the box http://blacksn0w.com and click ok then when thats done running click done then select the blacksn0w repo it should be at the top and on the next page install blacksn0w and your good to go.

 

i upgraded a friends 2G iphone to 3.1.2 and then used blackra1n.

Im having the same problem with the activation and sim.

Blacksn0w keeps coming up with an error. This phone was originally factory unlocked so im thinking maybe this has something to do with it??
