I found this phone laying around one day, it wa busted up, both screens were cracked, and it was barely working. Bought a bunch of new parts, new LCD screen, new touch screen, etc etc., and rebuilt it. Got it through recovery through itunes, and now it asks me to insert a SIM card to use it.

I have no use for a phone right now, nor would I have any use for an iPhone (and the large bills it would bring with it for even the most simple plan), but I would like to use it as an iPod Touch to play games, listen to music, and watch movies.

Is there anyway I can shut off the phone section to use the iphone media capabilities, or no?

Also, on a sidenote, if I sold this thing I'd make quite a bit of dough (I only put $60 into it to fix it). Is there a device that goes for around the same price that's even better? What I mean is, for what I need, do you think I should "trade" this thing in for another device? Or for the ~$200-~$300 market, is this the best I'm going to get?

    Thanks.

Nevermind, I will definitely be selling it in favor of a different device. For the price, the ipod touch/iphone are definitely not the best of the best, for what I need.
