    Hi,
I have a different kind of problem.
I purchased one iphone 3gs in local site. its boxed and never opened.
I activated the phone with my details and sim in itunes.
after 3 months, i tried to unlock it through orange. They
said, this phone is registered on different name and its on theft condition. so, they
    blocked network on my phone.
Now, when i contacted with apple store, they said ur the registered owner and they asked me to bring the phone for diagnosis.
If i take the phone to them, will they take it away from me..as the phone is bloked by operator..??
Shall i keep it with me and use it as ipod..
please let me know, i have apointment with apple on sunday.

    thanks,
    ram

if you bought the fone legit then you have nothing to be afraid of, "bring it to the shop"
or if you got it through a private sale then the other person may have reported it stolen or may have stolen it from some1 else!
but as apple said you are the registered owner then you should have nothing to hide
it may take up to 10 days for them to do a diagnostic test though

ps:also maybe the fone is sim locked to 1 specific operator, O2,vodafone,orange,tesco,ect...
