Rooted samsung galaxy ace gt -s5830i - can't make or recieve calls says no mobile network.Emergency calls only- checked sim - and it works on other phones.
Friend updated root - worked for a day -then same probs
    Other associated symptoms are
    Camera stopped working
3G no signal icon ( But 3G does work)
Samsung kies tried update of phone - keeps saying no sim card inserted (have reinserted sim /rebooted) still no sim message
Constant "Server certificate unverfied /not trusted" when going online
This problem happened before and afaik carrier flashed the phone (after i unrooted it)
I have another same phone which is not rooted and that has not had any of these problems.
Given this has occured twice now i fear the gt -s5830i is unsuitable for rooting

there is your problem certain carriers block unlocked phones so you need to find out if your carrier supports unlocked phones here in the u.s it's illegal to unlock a cell phone unless your carrier supports it

Afaik from 2nd hand info it is virtually nigh on impossible for a carrier to know a phone is unlocked/rooted.After all if they did know then it is very strange they did not invalidate warranty .

Actually they can At&t has the weirdest sim cards they actually record what network your on so you cannot use a 3g sim card from lets say a iphone 3gs on a iphone 5 it will just say no service because your not signed up for 4g service.

Are you on 4g or 3g does the phone support it and did you have a data plan and 3g or 4g service before trying the phone???

Phone ended up being replaced-might just be from a faulty batch
