Hi All, Thanks for reading. I'm trying to play a 3d mkv file from my mac, through a DVI, to the LG LW5600 3d tv. But when I hit the 3d enable on the tv, it only allows me to select 2d->3d, not the side by side option that is the file (it's greyed out). I want to play from the mac as the file is larger the 4gb, and for whatever reason, I'm unable to spit it (I've tried a number of mkv splitters, but none are working). Also, when I play the file on my mac, it is a side by side video (I tested using VLC). Any help / advice appreciated.
You need software to make it 3D and also a 3D enabled graphics card. I use Arccoft TotalMedia Theatre 5 to watch my 3D movies with my LG LW5700 3d tv I dont know about MAC though, give it a try as it has a 15 day free trial.
vlc plays 3d files and there is a mac port. I have only ever used my htpc to display 3d with hdmi 1.4a cables. Do macs even offer hdmi ports?
