If they are in fact .mkv files (001.mkv, 002.mkv etc), try AviDemux.
'File' > 'Open' the first file then 'Append' the subsequent files.
For AVI (the default), on the left pane 'Video' select 'XviD' for 'Audio', select mp3
Save the output and remember to give the new file a name with an extension,(e.g. Joined.avi).
Good luck.

Sometimes with a download, the file has been packed into an archive. Try to open the first file with winrar and if I'm right, you'll be able extract the .mkv. To convert the mkv to mp4 you can use a variety of programs.
Are these going to be played on a computer or are you going to be streaming to other media devices? When you convert to mp4 you need to make sure that the result is compatible with your setup.
