want to convert h.264 video file to divx

wanted to know if theres an easy way to convert h.264 files to divx.ive been using 4ccchanger for xvid to divx and ive tryed h.264 files in that but i lose the video and keep the sound.
thanx in advance for any help i get.

i have the big screen tv,a ps3 and 5.1 channel surround sound.car still runs smooth and computer still works but its a bit outdated.

A standalone player that is DivX certified reads the video header looking for 'DivX' or 'XviD' (functionally the same codec).
The 4CC changer re-writes the header accordingly.
Since an h264 file uses neither of these codecs, changing the header is not enough.
You must recode the files using the likes of StaxRip.

had a feeling i'd have to recode them.didnt really want to as encoding seems to take a while.
