I have several blurays which I would like to rip, resize to 720p, store on my computer, and stream to my PS3 for easy access. I have been able to successfully do this using megui when the video is h264. However, tools like megui, handbrake, and bd rebuilder struggle with the VC1 video files, reporting that conversion will take over three days for a 2 hour movie.

1. Is there a way to convert a VC1 Bluray rip to h264?

2. Is 72 hour conversion time reasonable?

3. Are there any tools which can do this conversion more quickly?

i use dvdfab and handbrake, it's a lot easier than using other stuff in my experience. typically takes 80-90 minutes to rip and convert the bluray on my end. try this tutorial, just change the ipad settings to whatever u want when you convert in handbrake: http://tabletorials.com/2011/06/blu-ray-to-ipad-how-to-convert-blu-ray-to-ipad-mp4-for-free/
