What software do I use to burn a Blu-ray data disk

I am trying to burn a Blu-Ray data disc and have already lost 3 discs. Can somebody please help me choose the best software to burn and what settings? I am using XP 32bit

What sort of data and for playback/retrieval on what device? Anyway, I'd probably use IMGBurn - write files/folders to disc.

Thank you so much, just applications mainly, a few photos. I have found recently that Nero 12 Platinum works fine with it too,again, thank you.
