I love this part:

although he warned through his "field checks" there "may be early production issues with Sony's PS4."

Sony hasn't even managed to get the YLOD fully under controll, so that assumption is quite an easy one.
And for the Wii-U: It will be in the same boat the Wii is in today, quite innovative new controlls but inferior hardware and almost no really good 3rd party games on it.

Xbox 360: Slim untouched with a faked 320 GB harddrive for XBL, phat with LT 3.0, played Halo early, so going on live would be an instand ban, also with a faked 320 GB harddrive
PS3: Recently updated to PS3 slim 160 GB (60 GB phat still working)
PSVita: hardly ever play it
GameCube: DOL-001 model put in a DOL-101 case. Otherwise unmodified. With gameboy player. Trying to get a Wavebird controller.

i find it hard to believe that they will get anything decent launched this year, they still have game contracts on current models through the end of the year! unless they are going to make everything backwards compatible, which sony never wants to do, then i dont see a release of either of them in 2013!

Why not? They could keep on releasing games for the old consoles, that is something especially Sony loves to do, some Wii titles also got released on the PS2 when the PS3 was long out already (e.g. Silent Hill Frozen Memories).
