x box & virgin media (super hub router) wifi

just bought the brand new xbox 360 - 250 gig h.d
and it has its own built in wifi;
now i like to no how to connect to it.
reason I'm asking it wont let me do so
i have also have got a virgin media super hub which is already connected and when scan
from x box it wont let me connect either
i assume i need either an Ethernet cable or a wireless adapter for this?
as said before i like to use the wifi
i am on windows 7
I am very new to the xbox
