Audacity editing query

#1 29 Aug 2010 @ 16:14
Please can someone help me.

I am using Audacity to record my voice for a language course I am doing.
I recorded the entire text but I have made mistakes in the recording, I know how to delete sections of audio but is there a way I can add a replacement audio recording to the sections where I deleted the mistakes?

It would be a shame to have to re-record my text all over again. So can I do this or is it only possible to add audio to the end of the recording and not anywhere else?

I thought I had worked it out last night but realise now that I had added a recording at the end and not anywhere else.

Any help greatly appreciated as I'm tearing my hair out here!!

Generally you would have your main audio on top and drag the second part onto the lower screen.
Highlight the second part and 'Cut' then mark the the insertion point on the main audio and 'Paste'.
