Hi, My set up is as follows: Small portable tape deck into a amplifier/receiver through the headphones jack. My nice tape deck will no longer play cassettes I think because the motor is worn out. So my only option now is this set up. Then the amp is connected to the computer Line In. I recorded several hours of audio yesterday with very little buzzing sound, hardly noticeable. As of this morning, I was getting a louder buzzing sound and so I bought a Ground Loop Isolator. But now the audio levels are cut by about 25% or a bit more. Is this normal? There is considerable difference in the sound quality and the volume of the input sound. Are there any ways to regain the volume? Or if I cannot solve the ground loop, am I stuck with this lowered level?
