Its seems around 1200 of my 1750 mp3's in windows explorer are missing the artist tag. which is fine in my itunes library, using its tagging system. But if I add my music to a different media player its missing the artist. I have know idea why the artist tag is missing specially on most but not all of the mp3's. So my question is, is there a way I can somehow sync the iTunes tags to the windows explorer tag information?
I REALLY don't want to go though 1200+ songs adding the artist tag one by one! Any Help is Extremely appreciated! Thanks

Ok, I found that if I rename the song in itunes to something random and then rename it back, the artist tag reappears in windows explorer, is there a program that will let me add /remove characters to the artist tag in itunes?

DieHardD, good one I never heard of that.

If they are mp3s you can use mp3tag which is a popular utility.

If you need to retag, using itunes, I would put up peerguardian. I know WMP contacts M$ who sicks robot things to check on your computer. I would be more than slightly amazed if itunes does not do something like that. Peerguardian will block most of the robot things from getting into your computer. Maybe even all of them. It is more than a little creepy watching it happen. All you need to do is play a non drmed tune and robots come to see what you have within seconds.

NICE heah!
