Video:
The Intel is hooked up to the monitor via VGA, and the PS3 through HDMI.
Audio:
The Intel is hooked up to two stereo speakers through regular minijacks, and the PS3 sends the audio data to the monitor via HDMI.
The Problem:
I want to hook up headphones to the monitor. The stereos in the monitor, not surprisingly, suck. The only audio ports, though, are an audio-in minijack and a SPDIF output jack.
I've been reading online, and the only major solution seems to be to buy a digital-analog converter to go from SPDIF to analog.
I'm really not looking forward to spending more money on a converter, even if it's just a few more bucks. But is this the only way to go? And if it is, then what type of converter would you suggest I get? I just need something for my headphones.
Thanks a lot, all.
EDIT:
Duh, me. There's a headphone jack hidden behind the audio-in port. I is stupid.
