Anyone who records TV OTA using a digital/analog converter to a DVD recorder might be interested in this device that I picked up for $60 Canadian on Amazon.

Antenna in/out connections provide pass through if required.
Recording to a flash drive or portable HDD connected to the USB is relatively painless.
The remote is functional, but hardly intuitive.

Recorded video can be output to HDMI, analog composite or component.
Both hdmi and composite cables are included.

Recordings are .MTS video format - typically 1920x1080 and are excellent.
The device will also play avi, mov, vob, mkv from the usb port.
It's a good alternative to hard to find DVD recorders if you're a cheapskate like me who won't subscribe to cable.

i am a cheapskate and i was just wondering if something like that could record ps3 gameplay.
The reason i ask if i make youtube gaming videos using fraps on pc and would love to record some ps3 gameplay but don't wanna pay top dollars for capture cards and other devices.
I also have a 650gb usb hard drive.

It's antenna only input (ATSC signal)so no-go in this case.
