I just received a VCD of a TV movie, look professionally done. Problem is it has no menu or a way to turn off the subtitles on the bottom of the screen. Is there a program like Shrink to re-author out the subtitles? Any help will be appreciated. -tr
I don't know of an easy way to edit VCD (which is mpeg1) directly. If the subs are as shown below, you can use VirtualDub to apply a black logo, which is sized the same as the black bar, to cover them. If the subs are embedded on the video, the bar might be more distracting than the subs. In either case you would then save the file as an AVI. If AVI is not acceptable, you would have to Frame Serve the output to TmpGenc which will generate a new mpeg1 file. That file would then have to be opened in VcdEasy to generate a new VCD image file.
