hi
looking for some help on this matter i have Cable Tv Virgin trying to find out if there is any method of transfering HD recordings to my Pc for back up. I am not looking to spend a fortune doing this my VM V+ box has the option to transfer to Dvd but the HD recording then become SD.Hope that makes sence ?

The digital signal is almost certainly encrypted.
Does the box output HD over component? Perhaps you can try a capture device with component.
