Videos onto MP4 HELP!

Okay, I have one of these: mp4 but I can only put music on it. With videos, I keep receiving an error note saying ‘Video File Format Error.’ I have converted the vids to so many formats even though it said use Avi in mpeg4 (which I did..) but nothing seems to work. What is wrong? How can I use my videos? Also txt files and jpeg/bmps are supposed to work in it.. and they aren’t. Only my mp3 and wma files are playing. I don’t understand. I bought it to put a few films on it and can’t do that! The disc that came with it says ‘blank disc’ when I try to open it. Can anyone tell me what is wrong?
