I would like to convert some of my videos from the .m2ts format that my Canon HD video camera recoreds in to a format that's accepted by some of the social pages online. I don't have a clue as to what software I should use/get. If there's anything that's FREE that would be appreciated since I'm on a fixed income, and not much of one toboot.
Thanks for any help anyone can give.

StaxRip lists .m2ts as an input format.
Click Project > Templates and select a format for the output (XviD? for an .avi or perhaps XBox? for an .mp4).
Load the file to be converted and 'Next' > 'Start'.
I've read that Handbrake also converts these files - the newest version only outputs .mp4 (older versions also output avi).
