split flv or other video

hi,
I must be daft. I have super@ and I am unable to split an FLV video into smaller sections to email . I tried converting it and it went up to 1 gig?? yet when I d/l the zip or copy it from the web it is only 29 Mb. Can anyone help me please?

thanks for the link but that was what I was trying before I wrote to the forum. that is why I thought I was daft ,it seems pretty straight forward and yet I could not get it to work??

Try AviDemux, I think it supports flv.
