How to convent my DVD files to 1 AVI file
    I have used DVD shrink
Now how do I convert into 1 AVI file?
In my Video Ts Folder I have 5 (vob) files
So when I try to convert them my software coverts each file separately and don’t save as 1 AVI file
The software I have used, Alive converter, Xilisoft, advanced convertor, AVS 4 you,
I find these convert each vob file separately. do I need to join them together?
Alternatively, am I doing something wrong in software setup?
What about Nero can use it to convert vob files to make AVI film
I just want to merge vob files into a single video avi format
How long to covert DVD files to avi files, pet 4- 3.2GHz- 2gb of ram
Please help best software to use and how

    Try AutoGK.
For input, select 'VTS_01_0.IFO' from the 'VIDEO_TS' folder.
This will ensure that the associated VOB files are used.
You can select a custom size for the output.
'Add Job' (if you wish you can add more jobs to the queue) then 'Start'.

AGK does good work, but it's best to let it run undisturbed (overnight is good).

I use fairuse wizard to convert my dvd to avi. Just make sure you backup to ISO with dvdshrink (fairuse only works with ISO). If you have video_ts folder you can use avidemux to convert the vob's to avi, but you might have to adjust the framerate to keep audio in sync.

If you use the 2pass mode it will take about 4 hours to convert your dvd on your single core.

With a dual core it takes about 3 hours, and a quad core takes about 1.5 - 2 hours.

2 pass mode gives you the best quality and using the h264 codec will
make the video look better at smaller file size.

I am new here, so excuse if my suggestion is old news.

Anyway i suggest using pocketdivx 0.4.5 but a new version may be available.

    1. its free
    2. its joins all your files into a singel divx file
    3. its faster than divx bundle application and AutoGk
    4. you dont need to make a iso file just decrypt your dvd and use POCKETDIVX to open the dvd folder and load VIDEO_TS
    5. it is customisable allowing to choose size of the output file,
play around with audio and video settings to choose
    6. it can make a divx video for HDTV.
    7. YES, ITS A POCKETDIVX APP BUT ITS DOES SUPPORT NORMAL TV, HD TV
ALONG WITH OTHER MOBILE MEDIA DEVICES

One more thing i have a crappy celeron 1.6ghz laptop

    - auto gk took a whopping 12hrs to make a avi
    - divx bundle took 4hrs to convert the SAME MOVIE that i used on AutoGk
    saving me 8hrs
    - Then realizing software not only sheer computing power is important i
googled around and found POCKETDIVX 0.4.5 it converted the same movie
    in 90mins.

NB: this was all done on the same laptop and did not increase my ram
in between. On my friends a 2.ghz CORE 2 DUO THE MOVIE TOOOK 45MINS
    to be converted.
