I have no trouble plying avi files made with fareuse wizzard or the ones downloaded from a torrent site. but the ones made with my canon powershot s5is wont play on my stand alone dvd player, and the mp4 made with sanyo movie camera wont play either. I know i can change them to dvd with dvd flick. but i want to keep them in the avi file, for storing on my media player hooked to tv. How do i convert one avi to a different avi
Use MediaInfo and post some comparing screen shots of the AVI that does work and the ones that don't. The bitrate or resolution might be too high for your DVD player,or something...WHat player do you have? This nice free software will convert to a new AVI: http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free/
Your AVI video is at 14.5 Mbps.A DVD Video is about 8~9 Mbps, the player most likely cannot handle more than that(14.5Mbps)(unless is a player that can handle HD bitrate).
This video has 1280x720 resolution,@9+Mbps, AVC, with AAC audio. Does your player support that? What player do you have?
The dvd player is a samsung ht-tx52 5 disc home theater, just regular dvd not hd or blue ray. And my media player that won't play them ,is a mediagate mg 450 how and what do i convert to? Also when i post the image i don't see it in my post? that is why i thought it didn't work.
I don't see the image either, that's why I got the link and re-posted for you. How do you post it?? Use the program that I suggested above, convert to an AVI;if you have a multi core PC, set the program to use all, will be faster;if you want smaller size, you can lower the bitrate:
Thanks a million, that thing works good, and real fast. I just have to try different settings to get the best quality, and start converting. Thanks again for you help and understanding!!!
All good!!!Just need to figure out how to post pics)) For the video that is high resolution from your cameras, you can encode to a max DVD resolution I guess, 720×480, and select a high bitrate, maybe 3-4000 or so(not sure what the player handles for Divx).
