Help... Tried every player/codec I can, have powerful laptop, out of options...

Ive tried every player I can, VLC, MPC, WMP, etc and codec pack, K-Lite, CoreAVC, etc. I cant get a simple 720P video to play without some stuttering. Heres my computer:
ASUS G74S - Interl Core i7 QM, 16 GB RAM, Geforce GTX 560M 3 GB, Win 7 Home Premium 64 Bit
Do I have a conflicting codec or something? Ill post details if someone suggests something they need to look at to assist me.
