MPC playback problem with recent MKV

I've been getting jerky playback of a couple of recent movie trailers in 720p. Jerky only when played with MPC (build 1.2.1008.0). The same files play back fine on Windows Media Player and Nero Show Time.

I'm using the K-Lite Codec Pack 4.9.5 full version.

All my other MKV files, including my own encodes, play fine on MPC. Virtually all are in 720p. I'd prefer to keep playback on MPC if possible--it lets me launch in fullscreen with the controls hidden. I would like to get rid of the jerkiness though. Any idea where to start? Thanks.
