already ripped bluray to dvd?

    Can you burn already ripped and compressed bluray files to dvd+r or dvd+r dl disks? What would be the best program?

    Depends, what do you mean by "compressed"? What codec was used for compression? What player do you plan on on using the disc on?

    Not sure about the codec. I have a blu-ray player but would it also work in a standard dvd player? I read somewhere that BR can be compressed down to 4 or 5 gb and still look amazing...

    I am sure if you wanted, you could convert it to standard DVD, but that would defeat the purpose. The 4-5GB compression and still looking good,is most likely compressed using x264, to an AVCHD , or some other container that the BR player handles.
