    Hello,

I have a Sony Laptop running Windows 7 64bit. I have a Matshita BD-MLT UJ240AS. Its a Blu-ray player/burner, DVD player/burner & CD player/burner. I purchased some blank DVD-R disc's from Staples. 4.7GB 2 hours of video. When I put the blank discs in my drive I click on properties for the DVD Drive. It said that I 3.43GB Free Space 974MB used space. Their brand new. So I clicked on drive and chose format. When it came up under the capacity choice is was only given the choice of 3.43GB. There was no 4.7 choice. This occured on 2 of the Blank DVD-R's I bought. How come it's not 4.7 and how come I can't find out what is taking up the 974MB of used space?

    Thanks

This issue never occured for me in Windows XP with a DVD-R/RW drive.
