What is the file extension of the file(s) you downloaded?

They're most likely avi. Encode and burn through DVD Flick (free) or ConvertXtoDVD (not free and trial leaves watermark) and either it or ImgBurn (free) to burn. You will most likely need something like WinRar to extract the avi from the rars unless they already are. And a good rule of thumb is burning at 1/2 the rated speed of the media.
