    Hi guys

Sorry if indeed this is a trivial question. I have only recently started downloading movies. I burn using nero, making a data dvd (prob wrong choice) most of the time they play well althought wont ff or rew but several stop halfway through then show up on the menu with a message dvd root, really frustrating when you are 40 mins or so into a film.

    Can anyone help please.

I assume you are creating DVD movies from the downloads.
Not being able to FF or rewind might be a symptom of poor quality disks.
Generally, the most recommended blanks are Taiyo-Yuden or Verbatim.
If you get some Verbatim brand disks, make sure they say 'AZO' on the package.
Don't by their 'Value' series disks.

Also, if possible, save the output from Nero to your HDD instead of burning immediately.
Use ImgBurn to burn the VIDEO_TS folder to disk - it's a better burning program.

    Thanks attar

The discs I am using look to me to be cheapies (I was given them "Bulkpaq" they are called the name prob says it all)

SO basically get good discs as shown save files from nero to hdd (using image burn instead of burner? see am really new here) and then use imgBurn to write to disc.

    Thanks again

PS Is imgBurn free to download?

When You are Burning Your Movie to Those Quality Discs, Burn at 1/2 the Rated Speed, Even Though They Say 16X
