I have a R04 and when I go to the finalaztion screen, everything works. It will sit there for 5 minutes and act like its going to start. The it tells me that it has failed. does anyone have any info on what I need to do?

I am using the Verbatium DVD +R's. I have been using these disks for awhile and have had problems with other media. never with the verbatiums.

Which Verbatim discs? Compare to the Verbatim spindle images.
The "Value Series" and "Life Series" are CMC junk.

I think they are the "life series". I have had them for more than 2 months and I do not remember which ones they are. The spindal ones are better than the other ones that they make?

Does the ilo have the original DVD drive which would be a DDW
    If so
The orig. drive did have problems and were replaced with PC units.
I have had many ilo 04 units and replaced all the drives
The drive may be defective The orig DDW did have problems.
I still have about 25 of the DDW drives many are recognized by the system some will burn any disk but I didn’t trust them .
Whole I will agree with using a Good Reliable disk. The Illiteon/ilo units were/are very good in operation with a good DVD burner
Some liteon drives or liteon clones as some Sony units, worked very well
I have Never had the orig. drive if working correctly Fail to burn or finalize any disk WITH old or new firmware

    PS
I have not bought or sold units ---[edit bought but not sell]
