First, rip the DVD to a folder on the HDD using the likes of DVD Shrink.
    'Open Disc'
    'Backup'
Select backup to HDD and specify a folder.

Try using AviDemux to edit the ripped files.

Drag the first VOB (VTS_01_1.VOB) onto the window .
Set the sidebar menu 'Format' to MPEG-PS (A+V) leave the others at 'Copy'
Use the slider and A/B buttons + the Edit menu to make any cuts.

Save the file by clicking on the 'Save' logo (or the File menu).
The new file should be given a name that includes the extension, e.g. newfile.mpg

To author the file back to DVD format you can use the likes of DVD Flick - it will optionally provide a simple menu and burn the disk.
Since the new file is already DVD compliant and to ensure that it does not get recoded (wastes time and lowers quality) make sure that under 'Project Settings' > 'Video' > 'Advanced' that 'Copy MPEG-2 streams' is checked.

"Trim" as in set a new start and end point?
1 Open the disk using DVD Shrink.
    2 Click 'Re-author'.
3 Drag Title 1 from right to left
4 Set the new start and end points.
    5 'Backup' to a folder.

O.K, so after that, how can I, say, post the videos to YouTube for example? Thanks, anyway!
