getting pictures from a DVD

    my cousin turned his family reunion pictures into a DVD. There is one particular picture I would like. Can this be done?

    Some slide show creation programs place an extra folder on the disk.
    That folder contain copies of the still images and you can simply drag it onto the desktop.

    If not, you can scroll to the point in the slideshow using a media player (like VLC);pause, then right click on the screen select 'Video' > 'Snapshot'.
    most PC media plyers have a similar feature.

    An alternate method is to play the slideshow on your standalone DVD player;skip to the one you want and note the time on the players display.

    Use VLC to open the slideshow and select 'Playback' > 'Jump to specific time'.
