Hello, I'm new to the forums at AfterDawn. I tried to see if this question had already been asked, but couldn't find it.

So I've been using ConvertXtoDVD to convert anything that's not an .iso file for burning on a dvd. Most of the files I've been converting have been .avi.

Everything was working fine, but something's changed. The last 3 burns that've I've done have all gone like expected, and ConvertXtoDVD is saying that the conversion>burn was successful.

But when I pop the disc in, the dvd player says ISO on the screen, and I get a menu that comes up as if you burned an ISO file to the disc without using ImgBurn or some other ISO>DVD burning program. I've seen this same thing before, when I didn't know how to use ImgBurn and tried to burn the iso straight to the disc as a data file. The menu that pops up when the disc is in the players says that the disc has Audio, Video, and Images on them, but I can't scroll through that menu and select one of the choices.

I'm not aware of any changes I made to the settings in ConvertXtoDVD, haven't really made any changes at all to the default settings.

I did buy a new spindle of discs right around the change, which I thought might be the problem, but the new discs are made by the same company as the old spindle, and they are both DVD-R. The only difference is that the old spindle where writeable surface discs, and the new ones are not.

    Any ideas?

Looks like you might have inadvertently changed a burning setting..

First off, make sure you're using the latest version of ConvertXtoDVD (currently is 3.7.3.190c).

Next go to your burning settings.. Make sure you have the check-mark in Burn Result to DVD, and that the drop-down says "ISO Image in working folder". I don't know if this was there before or not, but there's a second selection in the drop-down which shows the DVD burner.. If you have that selected, ConvertX might just burn the actual folders instead of the image.

If nothing else you might want to try re-setting ConvertX to its default settngs and see if that helps.. Or try a re-install.

Of course you can always ask the experts on VSO's ConvertX forum.. If anyone's come across this before, they would have.
