hi i purchased this samsung se-184 and i cannot get it to work, it is connected to the computer. however it cannot read the disk. anybody have any experience with this drive.
Not that particular Samsung but I have 2 SH-222 and neither will read DVD except when opened from My Computer. This is on Vista, on XP and w7 they work perfectly. These are IDE, SATA DVD writer's aren't recognized at all in Vista here except in the Bios but my HDD's are SATA and are fine. There may be an autoplay option in its properties or the Control Panel and you may be able to set it there.
