How do i compress ISo files?

I have some copies of some DVD’s that the iso file is too big to fit on a normal DVD how do I compress the file so it fits?
The biggest iso file is 7.73 GB.

These iso's are not movies they are information of cars that I upload into a program I use.

How can I compress these iso's so they fit to a DVD? I own Nero but if a different program is needed I will buy it if it is necessary (I would rather a free program)

Use a Double Layer DVD and Burn With Imgburn

 

Another option would be to use Isopbuster (free function to extract the iso to the VIDEO_TS (add file>right click VIDEO_TS and choose extract to -takes 2 minutes). Then DVD Shrink or even DVD Rebuilder (both free), I believe Nero uses Recode too but never used it. The quality is dependant on your preference but seems fine to about 75% and DL may be desired. And Imgburn to burn.

 

No DVD Shrink.If the ISOs were a Video_TS folder, DVD Shrink is more than capable to open that, without any use of IsoBuster and such...

Yes, you can go to File->Open Disc Image, or just simply drag the ISO in DVD Shrink.

If you're asking about DVD Shrink, no , will not work(ONLY works on video).
It depends on what you intend to do with that data disc. If is just for storage, you can try 7zip and compress it. If you want to burn it as an image to launch some application, then you need the DL disk.

 

I think at 7.75 gigs we are trying the impossible.. I would take the iso apart and have a look at how it is actually built. If it's just data files no problems.. but if it's some proprietary junk for a specific app it's probably impossible.

Plus, if it is some proprietary stuff for a certain application,assuming you were even able to compress it, wouldn't be able to use the ISO in a compressed state anyway, you'd have to copy it to the HDD and de-compress it. Just split the ISO in 2 and burn it onto 2 discs(if all you need is storage/portability), to avoid buying DL discs.
If you need to launch whatever app from one disc, then need to get a DL.
