How do I edit a DVD movie...

    I have a DVD of "traffic" that I would like to edit somewhat before showing my 12 year old daughter.

    It's in the VOB format and I'd like to edit certain scenes, before copying it to a DVD-R.

    Any freeware out there that would allow this? This is the only movie I'm planning on editing, so I don't want to get into alot of expense.

    Load the movie into DVD Shrink.
    Click 'Re-author'
    Drag Title 1 from the right pane to the left pane.
    Right click on Title 1 (left pane) and 'Set start and end frames'.
    Select the first bit you want to keep and click OK.

    Repeat dragging Title 1 from right to left and select the second part to keep.
    Repeat as required.
    Click 'Backup' to save the movie.

    What you end up with is a disk with multiple Titles that play consecutively - note that there is a slight pause as the player moves the laser.
    If this is not acceptable, you can use another program to join the separate titles into one.

    video editing software is the way to go.about his dasughter being 12 and the movie being R rated.it just depends on the movie.I use to watch manga when i was 12 and alot of that was R rated and never had a problem.The movie childs play on the other hand was rated MA 15+ and gave my 15year old sister nightmares as well as my little cousin and my mum.
