media read error on winDVD

#1 15 Nov 2010 @ 17:26
I have some unencrypted movies. Put dvd in drive, opened with my computer, dragged and dropped VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders to my new western digital My Book hard drive. Was playing them by double clicking the VIDEO_TS file located in the VIDEO_TS folder, this would bring up WinDVD. Worked beautifully. Decided to copy the movie folder from one My Book to another. Now (on both drives) when I click the video file, I get "stop media read error" and WinDVD refuses to play them. Windows media player just jams up and closes down. ???? I tried shutting down and restarting everything, didn't make a bit of difference.

ETA: I can open the dvd with Computer, click the VIDEO_TS file in the VIDEO_TS folder and it plays just fine, it's just stopped working when I copy the files over to the MyBook. And what I was doing was working yesterday.
