    Hello.

I have one of these portable DVD players that plays CD-R and CD-RW (or any DVD player) would downloading films (torrent files) allow me to play the films on these type of players

Or would i need some sort of converter, or program to copy the film onto a DVD-R..

I know this can get a bit technical, and i don't think it can be this straight forward

It does not make any difference how you download the files, to play them on a DVD player, you will first have to convert them to a DVD format..

    Thanks drongo, for replying

I take it then i would need some sort of program to do this.
Doing a quick search i found this.

    http://www.dvdvideosoft.com/products/dvd/Free-DVD-Video-Burner.htm

Would this do the job, once i find out how it works

    OK cyprusrom.

I have just downloaded DVD Flick, and just reading the guide.
I have not downloaded any films/movies yet, but this should allow me to download a torrent file and put it on to a DVD-R

The guide seems pritty basic to follow up to the add subtitles but i take that is optional.

Its only for me to download films and put them onto a DVD-R and then play them on one of those portable DVD players

OK, DVD Flick worked perfect with no problems, i was worried i might have the odd problem or two, looking at the reviews, but no downloaded a film used dvd flick and burned it to disk.

Where would i learn more on copying movies/films file formats etc
    onto DVD...

You do that by lurking in the forums, reading, googleing...Asking questions about specific tasks/problems.
