Welcome to Afterdawn Michael, Yes it is possible to download games from the internet. It probably isn't legal to do depending upon your local laws, you may want to discretely ask around. To play a copied/downloaded game you will need a modified "Chipped" PS2 unit, help is available all over this site. US and Canada use the NTSC video system, different resolution and frequency than the PAL system you use, so look for PAL games in your area. I don't think that your PS2 will play both, although some international models might. This isn't a great in depth answer but should give you an idea that you need a little more than just an internet connection and a burner to get games from the net.
