    I bought a pack of 10 Verbatim dvd-rs and washed it with water and some got inside but now the dvd drive doesn't recognize it as a writable disc.. it just makes some little pops trying to read it and then nothing.. any suggestions how can i fix them?
    thanks.
    blessings!

    i mean i only washed the outside of the package but some apparently got in.. it's because they're from the shop, you know, and i wanted to be sure that it's clean
    thanks.

    Next time wipe the package off with a damp cloth or something, don't give'em a bath.

    Try putting them in the microwave.The water molecules will become excited(as it happens when you heat up food in the MW), they heat up and eventually will evaporate.

    I agree with cyprusrom, if your really that paranoid vacuum or use a damp cloth. This is a first, I've never heard anyone "washing" DVD's, even for cleaning.

    Any water that gets in is only in the centre where the spindle hole is & will only penetrate a few 2-4mm inwards,it will evaporate by itself in a few days if left to dry,i don't believe your disc read error is anything to do with water unless you put it in the drive with water on the outside of the disc

    @ddp

    Likewise, I've wet them with a paper towel with alcohol and wiped them dry. This will often get a stubborn dvd to read again.

    I'm also dying to put one in the microwave and see what damage is done, since cyprusrom tweaked my curiosity.

    Better be prepared with long sleeved safety gloves & wrap around goggles,no telling what will happen when the trapped water is super heated
